As the result when the climate change has become more evident, our living environment is getting increasingly harsh. Therefore, green architecture is gradually approved to be a trend contributing to the sustainable development of mankind.
Green architecture requires the solutions to be proposed in the following areas: Reducing energy use, reducing the pollution and damage of external environment, reducing the consumption of energy and natural resources, reducing the internal pollution which is harmful to human’s health.
So, how can we assess whether a project is green architecture or not? LOTUS Rating Tools will help us. In researching & developing the LOTUS assessment system , the VGBC - Viet Nam Green Building Council conducted a survey of all the world’s significant green building rating systems (LEED, Green Star, BREEAM, Green mark…),and based on them, LOTUS Rating Tools have the goal of establishing standards & benchmarks to develop Vietnam's construction industry towards more efficient use of natural resources and more environmentally friendly practices.
